How to convert one time zone into another using customized date fi

I want to display IST and EDT both. By default the project plan is made in
IST. But I am trying to use a customized date field so that the dates in EDT
are also displayed against each task.Can't figure out what formula to use.

Since the difference is of few hours and not in days, i cannot use
[Start]-0.75. It throws up error.

Any help is highly appreciated

I'm not familiar with IST but I assume it is earlier than EDT. In that
case you want to use the DateAdd formula. For example, to show IST in
the Text1 field (assuming a 5 hour difference), use the following
formula:
Text1=dateadd("h",5,[Start])
