how to disable display on remote images in outlook 2002

I want to disable the display of remote images in incoming
HTML email messages as it seems clear that this is a
technique used by spammers to verify validity of email
addresses.

Can anyone advise how to do this please in Outlook 2002-
SP2?

You can use the Read all mail in plain text option available in Attachment
Options (http://www.slovaktech.com/attachmentoptions.htm) Outlook does not
have a method for doing this in 2002, however 2003 has this as a default.
