How to disable "more..." on pull-down style menu

I have a custom solution in WORD 2003 thatr needs to prevent the Task pane
from being displayed to the user. The style pull-down list has a "more..."
at the end of the list, that when clicked, displays the Task Pane and places
the user in the Styles and Formatting component of the task pane. Is there
any way to prevent this???

Hi Dennis

I don't think you can disable this. Or rather, I can't think of a way to
disable this functionality that I could not also subvert within 10 minutes.

It is, however, useful to set up the Styles & Formatting pane so that it
only shows the user the styles you want them to use.

To do that, use File > Open to open the template, then Format > Styles and
Formatting to view the S&F pane. At the bottom, in the Show box, choose
"Custom". Tick the names of the styles you want to be visible. If you don't
want users to use Normal style, un-tick the "Show Clear Formatting" box.
Click OK and save the template.

When users opens a document based on that template, they will, by default,
see only the styles you've chosen to be displayed. This won't prevent a user
from displaying a different set of styles. But I often find that if I give
users easy-to-use tools that help them do the right thing easily, they are
much discouraged from trying to do the wrong thing.

Un-tick the box at Tools > Options > Edit > Keep track of formatting, too.

Hope this helps.
