How to download stand alone updates?

Dev

Hello
I have a small problem, I'm using Office 2003 and I want to update them. The
problem is that I'm on dial up and I frequently get disconnected before the
downloads are complete, in which case the upload reverts back and all the
download up to that point is wasted.

So I am wondering how I can download them using a downloading application
which allows for connection resuming, thus avoiding this wasted proceedure
each and every time I try it.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Use FireFox, it includes a down-load manager which allows you to pause and
re-start a down-load.

Hello Beth
I'm using the automatic update tool on the microsoft website.

Then have you tried downloading from the page I referenced? Also note
the other suggestion you received in this thread, to use a third-party
download utility.

Once you get SP-1 installed then any other available updates on Office
Update should be easy to install. If you find you encounter another
problem then let us know which update you need to download and we'll
help you find it or search the Microsoft site for the download.

Thanks very much Beth! I'll plough onwards with the newly gleaned guidance
and will see how I get on.

Many thanks again for your help.
