I have unusual resource usage across tasks over weeks, but cannot find a way
to easily set it up in MS Project (2007). The individual tasks cannot be
worked on 8 hours a day, or even a consistant hours per day/week and a
resouce will work on several different tasks each day and each week.

The resources have approximately 40 hour work weeks, but some hours may be
spent on other projects or tasks.

There are about 20 tasks and 8 resources that fit patterns such as this.

How would you suggest putting the following task data into project:

Resource1 w1 w2 w3 w4 w5
------------ ----- ----- ----- ----- ------
Task1 13h 4h 4h 4h 8h
Task2 8h 6h 36h 12h 0h
Task3 22h 26h 2h 4h 0h
Task4 0h 4h 0h 10h 26h
--------------------------------------
43h 40h 42h 30h 30h

Thank you in advance for your help.

From the window menu, split the screen.
In the bottom pane display the resource usage view.
Set the timescale to show weeks
Enter the same data as below.
