how to extract data from bulletins

I have a document which is roughly in this format

Title 1 (underlined)
bulled item
several dashed items

I need to extract these items and put them into Excel. I'm a total Word
VBA newbie, but I know Excel VBA. Where can I start?

Hi James,
there are numerous ways and lots of variables,
just in case your bullet in from the symbol font
and character 183 then this may serve as a start:
Dim oPrg As Paragraph
For Each oPrg In ActiveDocument.Paragraphs
If oPrg.Range.ListParagraphs.Count Then
If AscW(oPrg.Range.ListFormat.ListString) + 4096 = 183 Then
MsgBox oPrg.Range.Text
End If
End If
