how to jump out of frame

I created 3 frames on the first page, with a heading, a menu column and
the main page. The main page links to the log on page. User can see the
heading and menu frames while they are logging on. But I want to get rid
of the heading and menu column frames after they successfully logged on.

Also, when I click a link in the menu column, the heading and the menu
column stay there. I want to get rid of those 2 frames.

How to achieve that? Thanks in advance.

From your description, place the heading and menu on the mainpage and
login pages, and remove the frameset. Rename the main page to be
your home page.

Otherwise, change the target frame in the links in the menu to be _top
(whole page).

Thank you. I prefer the 2nd method. Because quite a number of page
should have heading and menu columns. I want to let them display jus
inside the right hand main window. Only when displaying more contents
I need the whole page (_top).

I tried to change the Target frame for a submit button in the tha
page, but it did not expand
