How to move My Documents off the server and on to the local hard d

I work for a company that is using Group Policy to redirect "My Documents" to
the local hard drive and not to the server. Our goal is to have all user's
My Documents stored on their machines. Is there a way to move My Documents
using Group Policy, or will it have to be done manually at each machine?

Do you mean they redirected My docs to the server and not to the hard
drive? Because if that thats not the case then the my docs folder is
already on their local machines. We redirect all of our users My docs
to the server except a couple of laptops. We do this so that we can
backup all of the users documents without backing up each machine. Keep
in mind if you move My Docs to the local drives and want to have backups
you will need to keep all of the machines on so the backup software can
access the drives or make each users responsible for backing up their
PC. Sure... that's going to happen :)

No, they want to redirect the My Documents to the machines' local hard
drives. I think I have how to do that part down. What I need to know is
after we do that, am I going to have to go around to each machine and move
the actual folder off the server and onto their local hard drive?

I guess I don't understand. Why would they have to use GP to redirect My
docs to the place it exists by default. Somehow I think I've misunderstood.

As to the question of using GP someone else more familiar with it will
have to answer that.
