How to move the Contacts folder?

M

Michael B

Hello,

One of my users did something to her Outlook where her Contacts folder is a
subfolder in her calender folder. If I try to drag it back to where it shoud
be I get an error message stating that the folder is unmovable(which she
should have got in the first place). I tried repairing office, Uninstalling
and re-installing, but nothing works. Does anyone know how I may move the
contacts folder back to its original place. This isnt a personal contacts
folder but the actual original contacts folder in outlook. Please let me
know any ideas. Thank you!

Where did you drag it back?
I can easily drag mine back to the Root folder, which is where it belongs.
Is this a PST file or an Exchange mailbox?

It is an exchange mail box running from Exchange server 2003. I tried moving
it back to the root rolder which would be Mailbox - Username and I get an
error message stating "This is a system folder, can not be moved, blah blah
blah... I dont know why it would have allowed the Contacts folder to be
moved as a subfolder under calendar in the first place, but not it wont move
back to the root directory.. Im lost

Then you have an Exchange question rather than an Outlook question, and I
can't help. Sorry. It's always best to post the relevant details when you
post a question.

My apologies.. I thought because Outlook was the client that this would be an
Outlook question. The user did this while using outlook on her desktop
machine

I understand and it would be were the user using a PST file. Outlook has
less control over what happens in an Exchange mailbox and remedies there
usually require actions by the Exchange administrator.
