How to open Outlook without Window Installer reinstalling Office?

When I try to open Word or Outlook in Office Pro 2007, Windows Installer
installs and reconfigures Office. Reconfiguration often takes 15 minutes.
This appears to be MS bug for Office 2007. Any help out there?

Do you have another version of Office installed? This looks like the bug
where Word has to "register" itself every time, if that is the case. You
could remove the other version of Office, or there is a registry hack to
prevent it.

Thanks Earle. Do you know the registry hack because I only have 1 copy of
Office installed?

It's in this KB article, but you're only supposed to use it if the problem
is caused by another version of Word on your computer. I don't know what
would happen in your case, but I guess you're grown up enough to decide for
yourself. Load the article and search for "Multiple versions of Word". I
don't really know that this is your problem, but it might be worth trying.

Thanks, Earle, you've been very helpful. Will check it out very carefully.
