How to open two instances of Word 2002

Once one instance is opened, all my attempts to open a second one just
resulted in an existing document (or a new one) appearing over the
opened one. I don't get a second window the launch bar at the bottom.

I've tried double-clicking on a doc file in Explorer, going the
Start/Program/Microsoft route, and picking Word from the Office shortcut
bar. I've checked Tools/Options and Tools/Customize for something that
might control multiple copies. Can't find anything. What have I missed?

Thanks,

Ray

1. Click on Start : Run...
2. In the "Open" field, type: winword /n
3. Click on the OK button.

MS Word help that actually helps
Thanks for the tip. It worked, but there is still a problem that I can't
open a second window directly from the Office Shortcut Bar. If I use the
Bar to select twice Excel or Access, second windows open. It's just Word
that doesn't work this way.
