How to pre setup the cached e-mail name?

T

Tony

If I can just put all my contacts into the cached e-mail name that would be
very useful and make my life easier. Does anybody have any idea?

Thanks,
Tony.

I don't have any idea what you mean by the "cached e-mail name."

Ah, you mean the autocomplete cache. Outlook doesn't provide a way to import all your contacts into it.

In Outlook 2003, in To, Cc or Bcc, when you type in a few charactors, you'll
see a popup list of e-mails you typed in before that start with those few
charactors you typed.
Cheers,
Tony.

How'bout the registry. Maybe I can just import it to the registry. Just
extract e-mails to the correct format and then import it to the registry.
Is this possible?
Can you provide me the info on this kind of registry?

Thanks,
Tony.

The autocomplete cache is stored in a file named <your mail profile>.nk2, not in the registry. The format of that file is undocumented, although at least one vendor seems to have cracked it -- http://www.ingressor.com/. Their product offers an import feature if it's worth enough to you to pay for immediate gratification instead of waiting for Outlook to populate the list as you send mail.
