how to register microsoft office?

I have a legitimate copy of Office XP (Student & Teacher Edition). How many
times can this product be registered? Recently I have to re-format the high
disk due to virus infection. When I install it again, I am unable to
register the product because a pop-up read this product has already been
resgisterd with another computer. Any hint as to deal with this?

There is no limit set. If you can't activate it online then you have to
use the telephone method to activate. Explain to them that you had to
reformat the HD and so office had to be reinstalled.

Normally, it is very straight forward but sometimes the call centre
staff may have had a bad day in which case you will have to try harder!

In future you can back these two files to avoid this probelm:

Data.dat
opa11.dat

The second file is for Office 11; First file for Office XP. this is
not a hack but a legitimate way to activate your product using the same
system as before. You can't copy these files on any other systems!

Also, make copies of the old files before copying from the backups!
