How to remove costs

S

Suzanne

Hi,

Can someone please let me know the best way to remove costs from schedule -
MSP Professional 2003/ Enterprise Resources.

I have been saving schedule offline and removing labour rates manually from
each resource and am sure (hoping) there must be a quicker process.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sue

Sue,
Probably the easiest way to do it is to first change the standard rate
for the first resource on the Resource Sheet. Then do a fill down for
the remaining resources. If you need a little more selective purging,
VBA can be used to automate the process.

Hi John,

Clearing the Standard Rate Column only deletes costs relating to the current
year rates. Our projects run over several years so we have entered several
rates per resource to allow for yearly pay rises, unfortunately I don't seem
to be able to delete past or future rates without going into Resource
Information Box for each resource.

By the sounds of it the only way to simplify the process is to set up a
complicated VBA code...something for another day!

Thanks for your help,
Sue

Sue,
You are right, zeroing out time escalated pay rates is another matter.
It can be done fairly easily using VBA. As it turns out, a few years
back I wrote a macro for escalating pay rates for a client. As an
adjunct to that macro I also wrote a simple macro that purges all the
pay rate tables. It might be just what you are looking for. If you are
interested, contact me direct at the address below. I will ask some
questions.

Thanks John,

I'll see if I can figure out a VBA myself, if not, I'll send you an email.
