How to remove underline in hyperlink?

A

Amy C.

I'm using Publisher 2003. I am including hyperlinks in documents that are
then converted to PDF. Some of the URLs include underscores, and I've been
asked to remove the underline from the hyperlinks so that the underscores are
more readable (I suppose for folks who see this as print and need to type the
URL themselves).

I have found out how to change the color of the hyperlinks, but I can't
figure out how to remove the underline! The Font Format dialog box says it
isn't underlined; there's no style associated with hyperlinks (as there are
in Word) to change; and the color is only affected in the Color Scheme
change. Any more ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion, but if I remove the link, then when I convert it
to PDF there is no live link for the web address. And that's what I want -- I
just don't want the link underlined because it's too hard to see the
underscore.

Remove the hyperlinks in Publisher, Print to Acrobat, in Acrobat, advanced,
Links, create from URLs in document.

Thanks; that what I have ended up doing, once I figured out that I could add
URLs to PDFs (I hadn't done that before). But isn't that a ridiculous amount
of work for me to do just because Microsoft has decided that hyperlinks HAVE
to be underlined??

Mary never answered, so I assume that Amy's assertion of '...hyperlinks HAVE
to be underlined' is true. Or is it not? Let me know, no need to waste more
time on something that cannot be done.

In Publisher they have to be underlined. If you break the hyperlink in
Publisher, print to PDF, Acrobat will do the hyperlinks without the underline.
