how to run a macro in another active document

Is it possible to have a button on my custon toolbar run some code in another
document that is open. the other document that has the code is called
"Schedule.dot". The code is sub Finder()

Yes, you have to use VBA to find the control on the appropriate
command bar and modify its OnAction appropriately.
