How to save database diagram for edit in non proffesional visio

B

BigTed

Hi,

I've reveresed engineered a database model using Visio 2007 Professional,
and I want to save it as a plain Visio diagram.

This is to allow someone with Visio 2003 standard to edit it afterwards.

It's just for the purpose of documentation, so all they need is the shapes
links text etc..

When I try it you get error messages like "Error Failed to initialise the
modelling engine" and "the action you executed requires a Database Model
document".

Currently trying all the save as options.

Any ideas?

Ted.

If you download the VIsio SDK, it contains a new Addin:
Tools / Addons / SDK / Tools / Persistent Events...
Use that on a copy of the document to remove the two entries for DB
Engineer.
The document will no longer try to open the DB Engine. after that.
