How to set up collaboration using Project Server?

Hello!

I am a newbie with a MS Project and need some help. I set up MS
Project 2002 Server and am able to connect with it using MS Project
2002 Pro. Now I would like to set up collaboration using the Project
Server and run into problems.

I created a project. I created resources which represent my workers. I
set their Domain to "Microsoft Project Server". But how do I associate
them with the users I set up on the Project Server? I would like to be
able to login to the Project Server with the Web Access and see the
tasks assigned to me.

I set up some users on the Project Server (using Project Server
authentification - login and password), but how do I set up in Project
2002 Pro that the resource called, say, "XYZ" is associated with the
user "XYZ" set up on the Project Server? I tried wntering this name in
the "Windows Account" box of the Resource Properties dialog, but with
no help. Whenever I choose "Publish new and changed assignemt"en in
Project Pro, I get the following error in the MS Project Server
Spooler:

"The manager cannot create the recource account".

And logging as "XYZ" to the Web Access shows no tasks assigned.

In MS Project Pro, when I create the project and try to publish
assignments, I am logged into the Project Server as the administrator.

What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Michau.

I think you are missing how to get your enterprise
resources into your plan.
You need to create some 'enterprise resources' not just
Project Server users.
To do this, assuming you are logging into Project Server
with Project Pro, do the following...

From the Menu bar select TOOLS - ENTERPRISE OPTIONS - OPEN
ENTERPRISE RESOURCE POOL. You can add your resources here
and save them onto Project Server. They will also be
setup as users by Project Server.

Great! This is exactly what I needed. Now it works fine. Thanks.

Michau.
