how to switch licenses on computers?

I have Office 2007 licenses on two computers, but one's been down a while. I
just built it again with new mb/cpu. The copy activated no problem.

The issue is that, while I only had one working, I extended that version
from the basic version, w/o Access, to Pro, with Access. I only need Access
on one computer. How do I change licenses to enable it on the new computer
and disable it on the other?

Provided its a retail version, usually the licence allows you to install on
two installations for use by the owner.
It does say along the lines of a Desktop & mobile device
Otherwise simply uninstall Pro on one PC & install, activate on the new PC

There is no requirement to uninstall it. Where does it say you have to
uninstall it?

The OP should install it on another system and try to activate it
online. If it fails, he can always pick up the phone and explain the
situation. MS employs human beings who are sympathetic to customers
especially at a time when nobody is buying Office 2007.

If they can't activate it then he can come back here and I can show him
the hack to activate it without contacting MS. It is as simple as
that. This also applies to people using trial versions which can be
converted to full version without paying a dime!!

One is a laptop i used while I moved back here and rebuilt the other one --
the desktop. so I should be able to activate one license on both?

I'll give it a try. First, I guess, I should probably delete the ancient
copy of Access XP i'd been using before the old computer died...

thank you both. It wouldn't activate on the computer automatically, so I
called the activation number. They said it's ok on two computers and gave me
the code. Seems to be working now.

Actually all it says is one "primary" device and one portable - doesn't
specify what the "primary" device is...
