How to vary colors for each task bar in Project calendar view?

I need help I taught myself Project as it as MS product and similar in most
sense. I have created a 6 months calendar of tasks to cover in my
department. For the hell of me I cant figure out how to make each task bar
in calendar view a different colour so that it they stand out when the
calendar is printed.

Is there anyone out there that can help? I am in dire need.

Hi Clayton,

As you have discovered, the ability to format individual bars in the
Calendar view is not possible. The best you can do is to format groups
of bars based upon the type of bar.

To see the available bar types and change formatting choose Format > Bar
Styles in the menu.

You might want to consider filtering the project (perhaps based upon
Resource Group) to show only a subset of the tasks on the Calendar view.
Then print the view for the specific group or department.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for the quick response... it confirms what i thought after searching
through the Ms project. This is unfortunate for me as I need all on one
Calendar and unable to break up into different resource group.

Do you know of Microsoft plans to upgrade this feature in the project? It
would make it some much more better.

Hi Clayton,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

As far as Microsoft's plans to upgrade the calendar view in the future,
I don't know. I will say that the beta version of Project 2007 that I
have been experimenting with doesn't appear to have many expanded
options for formatting the Calendar view other than the ability to
easily change the number of weeks shown.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
