How to View tasks without the outlining?

J

Just Fun

All of my projects have outlined structures that make complete sense to me.
Now my boss wants to see what he calls a "simple list of tasks in order by
date." I have worked with the same layouts for so many years, I don't know
how to accomplish his request.

Any suggestions?

Create a filter in which you will not be able to see the summary task at all.
Now sort the tasks if essential.
See if this works

Hi Just Fun ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Tools/Options.../View tab, uncheck the show summary tasks at the bottom of
the dialog. Now Project/Sort.../Start Date. Voila! :)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

FYI - if you still want to see summary tasks but not the indentation, you
can turn the indenting on or off on the same Tools Options View screen.
