Hyperlink in Word to open PPS

Jana

I have set up a hyperlink in a Word document to open up a PowerPoint slide
show. The link works fine other than it opens it with a web toolbar and the
standard toolbar, and the standard toolbar allows you to go into the edit
mode.
I am creating this as a document to be used in production and would like it
to simply open the slide show(full screen, no toolbars, no edit capability).
A short cut works but it the file location moves the link is lost.

Thaks for any help you can give me

Hi Jana,

Embed the PowerPoint presentation into the Word document (yes, it will make
the DOC file much larger).

In Word ---
Select where in the document you want the presentation to be opened from.
Insert
Object
Create from File
Navigate to the ppt file
Make sure the Link to file check box is unchecked
Check the box 'Show as icon' or don't (Personally, I think the icon looks
better, but that is a judgment call)
OK out of the dialog

Now the reader will have the option of double clicking on the icon to view
the show. It can still be edited by right clicking on the icon and
selecting edit, but this is difficult to limit and still keep all users able
to open the show. Since the PPT is stored in the DOC, moving the file
around will not affect the show.
