Hyperlink to Office 2003 docs

Since upgrading to office 2003, I've noticed that a hyperlink (in a web page)
to an office document displays in IE instead of the applicable application
such as Excel or Word. Any setting to have hyperlinks to docs display in the
office application instead of IE?

Have you checked your file associations?

File associations show the correct appl for each type doc & all office docs
open using that appl. It only happens if it's a hyperlink in IE. for example:
Clicking on this hyperlink to display a word doc display it in a browser
window instead of opening Word

Clearing the 'browse in same window' per that articles direction worked
