hyperlinks do not display properly

instead of displaying hyperlinks normally they are
displayed as: "{Hyperlink http://www.abc.com}" and you
cannot click to open the link. Instructions how to correct
will be appreciated.

Sounds like you've got the option in Word on to show field codes
