I believe Combo updaters will apply to an older version. I know Combo
updaters will install on the same version as they¹re applying‹no need to
roll back or do a clean install.

If you try and find it doesn't work....no harm done. Let us know what
happens.

But Barry was saying you can't apply an OLDER updater (10.3.8) if you've
already installed a NEWER version (10.3.9), which is what you had suggested
trying. Are you saying you think it will still work?

10.3 is *ancient*. Does Microsoft even support Office 2008 running on
10.3? I doubt it. Or are you running 2004?

You're correct. Office 2008 is supported only in 10.4.9 and higher.

The person asking this question did so in someone else's thread and
quoted "Entourage 2008". However, he didn't pay enough attention to
provide helpful details of his own problem without causing confusion. I
don't believe the Office 2008 installer will allow installing onto an
earlier Mac OS X version.

you would have to reinstall 10.3 (use an archive and install), then apply
the 10.3.8 combo updater and then 10.3.9 delta updater.

to be honest, it's a lot of hassle and isn't all that likely to fix the
problem you are seeing.

You don't say what version of office you are running - I'm guessing vX
or 2004? - some early versions of these had problems with links in complex
HTML messages (especially 2004). This is likely the problemn you are seeing
and it is a bug in Entourage rather than a damaged installation.

Yes, It is the 2004 Microsoft Office for Apple. I think what happened when my computer automatically updates, it updated something that made me unable to click on hyperlinks in the email.

None of the updates did this deliberately - I suspect you are just
running into the sporadic bug that hits some messages.

about all you can do about it is to learn to use cmd-click when the
normal click doesn't work. :(

Ask yourself, why would an update disable the ability to click on a
hyperlink. No one else is having this problem, so you have to consider this
a problem on YOUR computer.
