Hyperlinks no longer work

Mike

I am having problems with WORD and OneNote not opening IE
when clicking on a hyperlink.

also Word and OneNote will close and restart/recover in
the same instance of clicking on the hyperlink.

I am trying to find the cause of this and how to fix it,
any suggestions.

am wondering if Spysweeper, ad-aware and spy-bot may be
causing problems here

thank you in advance for reply.

Mike,
Just a suggestion:
Update One Note to SP-1. If this link was pasted from Word, this could be
your problem.

Another suggestion:
If you installed Office first, then One Note, update in this order
Likely that the saved file(s) your using could be corrupt and after the SP
updates will not work unless you have a backup copy to use with the applied
service packs.

Believe I have found the cause of this problem, I use PopUpCop and updated
this software last night. Once I did that I tested hyperlinks in both Word
and OneNote and no longer had a problem.

Hopefully this is the end of the problems and allows others to resolve
theirs too.

I'm having a similar problem, but it's effecting at least 3 apps that i'm
aware of... Outlook 03, Word 03, and FP 03. Normally when i type a web or
e-mail address in Outlook or Word it would automatically make it a hyperlink,
but now it treats it as plain text. In Outlook (using Word as my e-mail
editor) i highlighted the URL and clicked the hyperlink button and it
replaced the highlighted text with the following: "Error! Hyperlink
reference not valid." The hyperlink dialog box won't even open no matter how
i try to access it, so i am also unable to edit any existing hyperlinks. In
FrontPage it just does nothing... doesn't even replace the text. I can,
however, create a hyperlink by editing the code in FP... but that seems to be
the only way.

I am not familiar with PopUpCop, but i do use another pop up blocker.
However, i am wondering if maybe this could be caused by corrupt files or
something. I have tried repairing and uninstalling/reinstalling FrontPage
and Office. Nothing has worked. Could it be corrupt files in XP causing
this?
