I get an error message that says the file has been corrupt. I have tried
everything. It will NOT let me uninstall it. I just want my Wordpad to be
my default program, but don't know how to get it back.

For some reason I cannot restore back further than Jun 13. I installed MS Office Standard Trial before that. I tried reinstalling it, but it still says the file is corrupt and won't let me uninstall it.

I am not impressed!

I've had the same problem. I want to uninstall the Office 2007 (Home and
Student) trial that came pre-loaded on my Toshiba laptop. The trial has
expired and I want to use the Office 2003 suite that I already own.

I had already installed Office 2003 before I realized it was a bad idea to
have two versions of Office installed at the same time. I tried to
uninstall 2007 first, and it failed. I then tried to uninstall 2003, and it
worked (after a few error messages popped up and I clicked "Retry"). I went
back to uninstalling 2007, and that's when I got the "setup file has been
corrupted" message. It says to run setup from the boot CD or DVD, but I
don't have one - it was preloaded as a special promo and not part of the
Toshiba utilities disk. System restore didn't fix the problem for me
either, and I was even able to choose a restore point that was prior to the
first uninstall attempt.

Any other thoughts?

I can only tell you what not to do. Do not get a PC Booster fix it program
to try to restore your files. I got one and it caused my computer to go into
a loop of booting, and never starting, turning off and then rebooting only to
go through an endless cycle of starting and shutting down. Now I can't even
turn it on, and don't have finances to fix it right now, so I'm using my
husbands computer. I gave up.

Good luck! Please post if you figure out a fix so that when and if I can
get mine fixed, I can uninstall Office 2007 trial.

Not sure what this means, but the techs at Best Buy (where I bought my
Toshiba) couldn't uninstall the Office 2007 trial either. They suggested I
search for an "uninstall.exe" file somewhere in my Office 2007 program files
folder to attempt an uninstall from that. I haven't found that file yet!

If that doesn't work, these particular techs said that it should not be a
problem to install Office 2003 without uninstalling 2007. I haven't done
that yet, but I only have two thoughts to go along with it:

1. Make sure you install to a different folder than just plain "Microsoft
Office" (which is probably the default install location). Create a new
folder during the install process (when the screen prompts you for the
location to install to) called "Microsoft Office 2003" or "Office 03" or
something like that. Hopefully, that will keep all 2007 and 2003 files
separate and untangled.

2. After you install 2003, make sure the Office file types (.doc, .docx,
..xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, and so on) are associated with 2003 by default.
If you don't change that in the default program settings, your computer may
continue try to open them with the expired 2007.

If I discover something different when I've completed this, I'll try to
remember to post again and let you know.

Hello troubled user:

I am having the same problem. Have you gotten the answer to your question?
Has it been resolved?

I install trial version of office 2007 and when it expires, I just delet the
old expired version and go back online and re-install and new trial version.

However; I was unable to go into control panel and delete/remove office 2007
trial. It says it is corrupt and I should run seup again from the CD, DVD or
other original installation source.

I can find that source. I don't know where to or how to run the setup. I
don't have a CD/DVD.... I got office 2007 trial online download.

Can you help me with this issue?
