I bought Office XP 2002 upgrade to upgrade an earlier version of Office on my
old computer. Now I've bought a brand new computer that does not have a
previous Office version. How do I use my "bought and paid for" Office XP
Professional 2002" upgrade product to effect an installation on my new

You don't. Once you use a product to qualify for an upgrade, that licence
becomes part of the upgrade licence and the two are, in effect, now one
product. If you give away, sell, or lose the QP, then the upgrade licence
is void. You may, however, use your upgrade to qualify you for a 2003
upgrade licence.
