I can't send emails with outlook

I have recently installed outlook 2003 as part of office
2003. However, every time I try to send a picture or
letter as attachement, I keep getting the following error
message and the email stays in the outbox of outlook:
"Task 'POP3-Sending reported error (0x800CCC0D)' Unable
to find the email server".
Can anyone tell me how I can correct this. Thanks
