I don´t get a context menu when right-clicking

Hello! I´m in charge of the computers at my job and now I
have problems with Excel 2000 on a laptop. Thing is, when
the user marks an area in a sheet and right-clicks on it,
he does not get any menu (with the ordinary choices copy,
paste etc). Instead of a menu, the area seems to have been
copied...the squares get these moving lines around them
(like when you copy an area in Excel :).

Does anyone recognize this or know any tricks I can try to
get the context menu back? I have never seen this and am
really lost!

Big thanks...

Ewa.

Ewa,

There could be a Worksheet_BeforeRightClick event that does the copying
(along with having the right-click menu disabled). The event could also be
at the workbook or the application level.

To reenable the rt-click menu, run this macro:

Sub ResetCellDropDown()
With Application.CommandBars("Cell")
.Reset
.Enabled = True
End With
End Sub
