I get "corrupted file" more and more often when I try to open e-ma

This used to be a problem very rarely, now it happens to me almost every day.
I try to open files (mostly excel) that are e-mail attachments, and the
files are "corrupted." Is there some sort of cache file that I need to
clear? Wht is this happening more and more? If I recieve the same e-mail on
my Blackberry, I can open the file. Why is my computer not able to open
these files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
