I have XP-what program do I download for checkbook/personal acct?

I'm not sure where I should be posting this - I only basically computer
literate. I have Windows XP and would like to keep a personal file for check
booking and personal banking but I don't know what program (other than Excel
which I already have) to use. I had a Windows program on a computer I owned
last year that allowed me to do this but I can't for the life of me remember
what it was called, but it came as standard software with my Windows 98. It
would be preferable to download this for free, if such a thing exists.
Thanks so much for any help,
AJ.

Depending upon your geographical location, Intuit's Quicken will no longer
be available.. try Microsoft Money 2006..

BTW.. you have to purchase it.. no free download is available, although
there may be a time limited trial version..
