I keep getting error 2203 when installing Office onto my XP Prof.

I had to rebuild my hard disk. I installed the Windows XP Professional but
everytime I try to install Office XP or 2003 I get the error message:

"Error 2203. An internal error has occured. (C:\WINDOWS\Installer\3f14ae.msi
-2147287008 )"

An ideas please?

I have already tried the knowledge base and the Windows XP General forum.

I had the same problem.
I solved it by copying all the files on the cd to my hard drive.
I then right clicked on the setup file and clicked on properties.
I then unchecked read-only (obviously on a disc u are not able to do that,
hence why i copied it on to my hard drive)
I re ran the installation and it installed correctly, no problem at all.
