I lost a document after I saved it how do i find it?

I downloaded a document of my from the web, worked on it, saved it and then
closed it. Now when I try to find it it's no where? How do you find this? I
know it's somewhere because I repulled up the document from the web source
and it showed put as version [2] two i think. Help please

It should be in the List or Recently Opened Documents, unless you have
opened many documents since then.
If it is not there, you can try this:

You could get the document from the Web again doing exactly as you did the
first time.
Then, once it is open in Word, do Save As.
When the Save As dialog pops up, you should be able to spot you first
document in the list of document as presumably Word will be pointing to the
same temp directory as it did the first time.
Note the path.
Cancel the Save As.
Use Explorer, go the folder you noted above to retrieve your document.
