I need help! can't add new contact error message

I need help, and hopefully someone can help me before the
day is over. I'm using Microsoft XP with Office Outlook
2000. I always add contacts by clicking on the address
book and then clicking the 'new' contact' button. When I
do this, I receive an error that states the following:
This request can't be done, you need to use the Contacts
Module....

Any and all assistance as to what I need to do to fix
this, would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

The Address Book is merely a view of your Contacts Folder and has never been
the correct interface for data entry. Use Outlook.
File > New > Contact
