I need Publisher 98

My installation disk for Publisher 98 has gone missing. Following a
clean reinstallation of Winn XP, I need to reinstall Publisher 98. It
has to be 98 because that's what all my documents are asnd past
experience tells me that various version of Publisher are incompatible.
Anyone know where I can buy and download a new copy of 98? Can't afford
to wait days for a new CD through the mail.

No. Pub 98 is looooong gone.
That's depressing. Will later versions read Pub98 files? My experience
earlier with a still older version was that Pub98 would not read those
files.

There are no downloads anywhere for Publisher 98. Try eBay. All newer versions
of Publisher can open 98 files.

Mary is the one who has experience with older versions and she says they
will open on newer versions.

Thank you. I guess it's time I updated anyway. Which update would you
recommend?

"Try eBay." Task, tsk. That wouldn't be a pirated copy, would it?

I just know that as soon as I spring for a new version, my missing
installation disk will turn up.

I had a inquiry about an Apple II game this morning. I looked through my zillion
disks for the game, I knew I had it. It took three looks, but I did find it.
If you know you didn't throw the disk away, you'll find it.

The latest version you can get. Publisher 2003 is currently the newest
version, but 2007 Microsoft Publisher is due for release before long; if
you could hold out until then, it would be worth it either in terms of
the new features or the price drop on Publisher 2003 when the newer
version becomes available.

Note that this would be an up*grade*, not an up*date*. In Microsoft
terminology (as a general rule), updates are patches that stay within a
version number, and are not normally charged for. They may add some new
features, but don't completely change a program, and are more typically
bugfixes. Upgrades cost money, and take you from one version to the
next. Microsoft normally makes updates available online, but not upgrades.
