Icons...how do I freeze them?

how to I freeze my icons in the desktop so they don't move?
I'm wondering if there's anyway I can just put them in the top or to the
left, or to the right but kind of locked so they won't move with my mouse
clicks, if there's anyway to do that.

I'm guessing you're talking about Windows and not Office.

If so, it would be helpful to post what version of Windows you are using.

In Windows XP, if you right-click on the desktop, you will see "Arrange
Icons By". You can try the "auto align" option which will allow them to be
re-ordered, but they will always alto-align back against the left.
