icons in navigation pane

I want to change the default icons that show in the navigation pane, such as the inbox, Drafts and so on. I know, I can change them in the toolbar, but it does not work in the navigation pane.

As far as I know, the icons in the Navigation Pane are hard-coded and cannot
be changed.

Thanks, Jocelyn. I was hoping there would be some *.exe or *.dll that I could patch with tools such as Microangelo's
librarian.
