If-then fields?

I want to create a template that has drop down fields and when you "answer"
the first field with one answer it automatically fills a "2nd" answer into
another field (something different though). I want to adapt the second
answer to be dependent on the first answer.

For example, if a drop down field box has 3 goals, you reference the
"who-dun-it" box with a corresponding name.

Is this possible and how?
