I need to compare two dates, and if one date is greater
than the other I need to copy several cells from another
file into a column.

Any ideas for a formula?

Copy cannot be down with a formula, just VBA.

You could use several reference formulae that check the same field, such as

H1: =IF($A$1>$B$1,C1,"")

and copy down.
