image not redrawing

I am embedding an image into Word 2003. The refresh is so slow that I can
never see the picture after the first redraw. How can I change this. When
doing this on a different computer at home the redraw is lighting fast. What
can I change?

Note, when I put the cursor after the image and hit the return button it
refreshes immediately. Its not the computer or video ram I don’t think…
