IMAGE OVERLAYS IN A SINGLE SLIDE

Is there any way to paste an image to exactly overlay one beneath it in a
single slide. Whenever I try to do this, the top image is shifted off of the
one below, and I cannot find the setting to undo this, and it makes desolves
impossible to build accurately.
