Images appearing as placeholders

Hi All,

Can someone please advise how to restore the default behaviour for jpegs to
'appear' as images rather than placeholders ??

WinXP SP2, PPT2000.

Thanks Steve,

When dragging .jpg's from explorer and dropping them onto a PPT slide, the
dropped image presents as a
placeholder. There are a significant no. of images to be placed in the
presentation and going through the
menu structure will be time consuming...

Note that if I use the (long winded) menu structure approach to insert the
picture, it displays correctly.
