Images jumping to different slides

This is a new one for me - I saved my presentation, time stamped at 9:59am. I left it open. I made no changes. I printed it at 10:30am - all is fine. I closed the presentation. Copied to another system, and when it was re-opened it is completely jumbled - images have literally jumped to different slides! How can this happen????
