Images won't display in Normal view

I've copied and pasted images from a Web page into a Word 2003 document. While these images appear in Print view, they don't in Normal view. Why, and is there a fix?

Thank you --

Normal view is designed to speed up editing of text, so objects that are
not formatted as inline with text are not visible by design. Page
Layout view is designed to show how text and graphics will appear on the
page when printed, so margins and all objects (floating and inline) are
visible.

I have the same issue. It used to work and then all of a sudden, images
no longer show up in any view otehr than "print preview". I've tried
pasting and inserting with no luck. Some of the images allow for "editing"
and if I cick on edit photo, then it shows up. I think there is a bug
somewhwere in Office 2003 Word.
Anyone that has a real fix for this, please let me know. Thanks.
