I made an IMAP account that I was going to test later. It's send/receive is unchecked and Live Sync is unchecked. I have a POP version of this account also. The IMAP was not receiving any email for last week or so but started to receive email into the inbox this morning even though everything is unchecked and the POP is checked to receive. How is this? thanks

Turn the POP account OFF unless you have it checked to "leave on server".

Diane, let me cleariry.
Right now I want the POP on.
So the POP is on and the IMAP one is off.
And this has been going fine for awhile.

But suddenly this morning the mail is going to the IMAP one even though it is set to off!

Check your schedules to see if it's downloading in a custom schedule.
Unchecking is for the Send & Receive all schedule.

Diane, I have a schedule, but it's turned off.

Then I have no clue.

Have you considered, creating a temp Identity to work out your complex
accounts and new settings. I would add one account at a time to see if it's
working.

Otherwise, it might be time to get rid of some of the old emails by
forwarding them and letting the users know you have a new address.
Eventually you will get them all moved to your new address.
