import/export grayed out

How do I get my import/export under the File menu to be usable. It is
grayed out. I need to save contacts to another form to do a mail merge

You need a MAPI client installed. Such as Microsoft Outlook.

Was your office installed from a corporate location using a transform file
(*.mst)? The reason that I ask is that their could be a corporate policy in
place disabling that option.

Only other option I can think of is that the import/export tools were not
installed, but I'm not sure how similar the Office XP installer is to Office
2003.
