import resource rates

I have an excel spreadsheet that has these columns:

resource_name rate effective_date

How can I import this into the schedule? I tried the import wizard,
but i couldn't find a field for the rate's effective date.

The cost rate tables are the place where effective dates for rates are entered.
Because there are multiple rates and effective dates possible for each
resource there is NOT a single table or sheet which shows all this
information for all resources.

You can cut and paste on an individual resource by resource basis, but not
for all resources at once.

You could write some VBA code to do this and if there were many resources or
frequent changes I'd consider it.

Hi SugarGenious,

to get some info about the MSP fields, just follow these steps:
1. Press "F1" key.
2. On the "Project Help" window, on the "Search" field, type "fields"
and click the Search button.
3. On the first result of the list, look for the "breadcrumb"
underneath the result name and click on "Fields Reference".
4. On the "Topics" list, click on "Available Fields".
There you have it, sorted by Task, Resource or Assignment fields. Also
in Help, search for article "Field Reference" and you'll see links to
everything.

Another issue in exporting/importing Excel and MSP is the so called

Hope that helps; have fun
