The answer is yes. In Outlook, choose Import & Export from
the File menu and select Import from another program or file.

But the question remains as to why. If you wish to send the
Word (or other) file to someone, attach it! Or copy and
paste the entire document into the body of the message.
Another angle; with the Word document open choose Send
to... from the File drop down menu.

Thanks, what I'm trying to do is copy files to my calendar that I've
scanned to microsoft word, so when I sync to my handheld I can view the
files. Unfortunately when I attach a file or try to import or copy and paste
I get the file icon though not the text. I'm not sure if it's that it will
only accept a certain type of file? or if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks
