Importing OE to Outlook

I'm trying to import my Personal Folders from Outlook
Express (which quit running) to Outlook. I currently use
Windows XP. When I go through the import sequence, it
says I can't import from / to same file. Please help! I
need to copy over the contents of my old inbox and
contacts. Thanks.

If Outlook Express isn't running correctly, you'll need to reinstall it --
Outlook needs it in order to run properly (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287686&Product=out
for an explanation). The following MSKB article will help you to reinstall
OE:

If your data does not appear in OE after you've reinstalled it, go to
http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com for help getting the data back.

Once you've gotten Outlook Express working properly again, if you still want
to switch over to Outlook, you can use the Export function on OE's File menu
for this -- it's better than importing from the Outlook side because
importing will change the dates on your messages to the date of the import.
